Privacy Policy

SPOT Hunter respects your privacy. The app does not require an account and the vast majority of data remains only on your device.

To the cloud (Google Firebase) we send the content of your alerts (rules) needed to deliver them, and subscriptions are managed through the Apple App Store — see below.

We also measure anonymous statistics about how the app is used so that we can improve it. They contain no personal data, and a separate section below describes them in detail.

For each alert you create, we store its settings — rule name, commodity/currency, price thresholds, timeframe, and language — together with an anonymous device token (FCM token) needed to deliver the notification.

Alongside the rule itself, Firestore holds a mirror of those settings of yours that affect how the rule is evaluated — currency, unit, market, language and correction bands — and whether your PRO subscription is valid. Without them the server could not decide when, or in what form, to send the alert.

The app signs in to Firebase anonymously: it receives a random uid with no account, name or password attached. You never sign in and never create anything.

App Check (App Attest) verifies that a request comes from the genuine app rather than from something impersonating it. It attests the device and the app, not you.

We do not store any identifying personal data such as name, email, phone number, or location. The rule name is one you choose yourself and is not used to identify you.

Deleting a rule in the app immediately removes the corresponding record from Firebase.

SPOT Hunter uses Google Analytics for Firebase so we can see which parts of the app people actually use and where something is going wrong. We measure the use of this app only — we do not track you across other apps or websites and we do not use the IDFA advertising identifier. That is why the app never shows the system tracking prompt (ATT): there is nothing to ask for.

Your identity in this data is a pseudonymous app instance identifier generated by Firebase. No name, e-mail address or phone number belongs to it.

What we measure: screens and tabs opened; settings changes (market, currency, unit, language, real price on or off); the subscription flow (offer shown, started, completed, cancelled, failed, purchase restored); creating and editing alert rules and opening a notification; use of Siri shortcuts; appliances (added, deleted, switched on, run time, renamed); how many widgets you have placed and of which kinds; the rating prompt being shown; and a diagnostic event recording that a screen had nothing to display, with the date and market — this helps us find gaps in the price data.

User properties attached to these measurements: chosen market, currency, unit and language, whether you are on PRO or the free version, whether real price is switched on, the number and kinds of widgets, and the number of active appliances. They group the statistics; they do not identify an individual.

You can switch the measurement off at any time in the app, under Settings → General. Once it is off, the app sends no usage statistics at all.

The app uses no ad tracking and does not follow you across other apps. We do measure anonymous statistics about how the app is used — the section above says exactly what. The app’s website measures traffic only with your consent — see the cookie section below.

The SPOT Hunter Pro subscription (including the family variant) is managed exclusively through Apple StoreKit / the App Store.

Payment details and billing are processed solely by Apple — neither the app nor the developer has access to them.

Your subscription status is stored locally on your device (shared with widgets via an App Group), with no link to an email address or account.

Sharing a subscription with family is handled entirely through Apple's native Family Sharing feature — there is no custom account system operated by the developer.

Purpose: delivering push notifications according to your rules, providing the purchased Pro features, and improving the app on the basis of anonymous usage statistics.

Legal basis: Your consent to receive notifications (granted in iOS) and performance of a contract when providing purchased features.

Anonymous usage statistics are processed on the basis of our legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) in knowing which features people use and where the app fails. They are pseudonymous and are not used for advertising or profiling. You can switch the measurement off at any time in the app under Settings → General, and you may object to this processing at the contact given in this policy.

Data in Firebase is kept for as long as the related rule/notification is active. Once a rule is deleted, the related records are removed immediately. You can also request deletion at the contact below.

Usage statistics in Google Analytics for Firebase are kept for the period configured in the service, 2 months by default. After that only aggregate reports remain, from which nothing can be traced back to an individual installation.

Delete the relevant rule directly in the app — the Firebase record is removed immediately.

We do not sell your data, do not share it with anyone beyond the processors listed below, and do not use it for advertising.

Google Firebase — storage of the rule and settings data described above, push delivery (FCM), anonymous sign-in and request attestation (App Check). Data may be transferred outside the EU in accordance with Standard Contractual Clauses (SCC).

Google Analytics for Firebase — the anonymous usage statistics described above.

RevenueCat — evaluation of your subscription status. It receives the App Store purchase receipt and a pseudonymous identifier, not your name or e-mail.

Apple — push notification services (APNs) and processing of subscription payments through the App Store.

In some cases, data may be processed outside the EU (e.g., on Google Firebase servers).

Such transfers are carried out in accordance with GDPR, especially using Standard Contractual Clauses (SCC).

Our service may contain links to other websites.

We are not responsible for the content or privacy policies of those websites.

Within the scope of applicable regulations (especially GDPR) you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing, data portability, and object.

You can withdraw your consent to notifications at any time in your device settings.

The anonymous usage measurement carried out on the basis of legitimate interest can be switched off at any time in the app under Settings → General, or you may object to it at the contact given in this policy.

We may occasionally update this policy.

The new version will always be published on our website with the effective date indicated.
